    Default sand lake

    anyone have any experience or insight on fishing sand lake for pike in the winter??

    I thought that lake got the rotenone treatment.....?
    Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.

    I'm not sure??? I know Cheney lake got it... I can't remember about Sand Lake though??

    All i know is sand lake isnt even worth fishing anymore. It used to have giant pike in it but no more. Before that sand lake had good rainbows and some wild ones at that... I think they are going to retenone that lake though. I wonder if they will find those lakers they stocked in there or if they died.

    Sand Lake has zero fish........live ones, anyways. Poisoned this last fall.

    bowhunter my buddy caught a 28" 7# laker while fishing for pike with herring by the public dock 2 years ago...other than ive never seen any in there....up till about a year ago there was still pretty good rainbow and char/dolly fishing to be had, and a few small pike in the canals....

    There used to be big pike in that lake.... ten lbs plus being fairly common. They dont belong here though, ADF&G made the right choice.

    Oh you pike guys quit your crying. They dont belong there.... Trout and Char dont decimate salmon populations. I love fishing for pike but have enough common sense to know they dont belong here in SC...

    Pike aren't the only problem with our salmon runs, but no they don't belong here for the most part.
