Default One very happy 14 year old.

well worth the wait.. to night is the Birthday party for my oldest daughter. ( tomorrow is actually her b-day but we are doing x mas Before they leave)
many have participated in my selection of her new rifle as she is cross dominant she shoots lefty though right handed. and tonight she unwrapped her Ruger hawk eye in 30.06... we picked out the brushed stainless, in the black laminate, i have a Bushnell 3200 elite with a fire fly reticle,to place over it as i have on many and she uses now on her Browning 270

she wanted the 270 in lefty, but after her B.F.F shot a Buff in delta this fall, it was all.... .30 cal from there on out.

    Default Excellent

Good job and good girl, may that 06 bring her many years of enjoyment and successful hunts. I have a young lady back home who has a burning desire for the outdoors and I am trying to find her a suitable rifle as we speak.

Tell the young lady happy birthday for me, and merry Christmas to all of you.

Default Happy Birthday to your Daughter

She should be thrilled with her new rifle. I hope it serves her and your future grandchildren for years to come.

Congrats on finding her the perfect rifle - I hope you and her continue to enjoy many great hunts!

I know what you mean and did the same for my little girl for her last birthday and got her a Savage youth 270. Down here in the lower 48 it's funny to see the reaction on flks faces when they hear what she got.

LOL bravo. i was torn over buying the second 270. but with my oldest getting the .06 that leaves her righty .270 aval to hunt with. and since the wife's boy ( 12 ) and my second (12) are only 4 days apart.. aand thae same size all that i can carry i set extra ammo for both guns when they are hunting with me now.. he got the Rossi combo for his b day this year. in the .44 and 20ga

i think i am nearly done for awhile. unless i can talk her into that 45/70 BFR when i draw the Afognak tags... (hehe... need BFR's over there huh?)

Sounds well thought out. MY only suggestion is to borrow a BFR carry it for a day in the woods and shoot it alittle before you purchase one.
Sounds like MOM is pretty easy to deal with !! Good for her too !

what ???? who said anything about use or Carry? I just want one!!!!

    good NEWS Is...

round two went even Better tonight!. i used a box twice as large as last nights so they did not recognize it... no tag. no Bows and told them that MUST Be the hunting gear i ordered from mom...

well mom finally fessed up she did not know who's it was.. so i made them pick a number ... of course the 12 year olds Natalie guess RIGHT ON... and got to open the package.... LOL we had to tell her 4 times it was HER .270 before she got it... even after i reminded her she had spent a day helping me make Bullets for it..

i do have to thank member bowtechshooter for the good deal on it. she loves it... and said that GUY i know in Wasilla gets to paint it like the ones in the pictures... she rather like LUjon .17hmr.. but we will see after a few more photos what she settles on.

    Thumbs up

Congarst Vince I am sure she is going to live that rifle! Way to start her off with a collectors item though, now she is going to be spoiled. We better see a family pic with all the new toys.
