    Default kokatat whirlpool bibs

anyone ever use these bibs before? I'm looking to acquire a pair for a January trip down the Grand and wondering what people think...? I have a drysuit already but the bibs might be more comfortable while rigging and for rowing on those "warmer" days.

    thanks.

I don't have a pair myself, but several friends do. As a drysuit, coupled with the Whirlpool top they are kind of a pain, since it takes too much effort to roll the halves together well enough to hold water out. Your other drysuit will be easier to deal with. But as separate pieces they are both quite nice. That said, I still have heartburn about swimming in bibs. Pretty tough to climb back in the boat with legs full of water.

I did an October/ November Grand trip and just wore mesh lined nylon pants. They were warm enough I didn't mind getting wet on mild days. But a January trip will be colder, so perhaps you're thinking right.
