    Default American Creek/Katmai

Going to run American Creek for the first time this summer. I've floated plenty of other rivers/creeks out West, but this one has always been on my short list of must-do's. Anyone here ever floated it? Looking for experiences to feed my imagination and to stave off the winter doldrums.....

Nothing too specific. Just looking for a synopsis of the float.

Nick's a chiller and fun guy to fish with. I forgot about him being a guide out there.

Go to Seasons on the Fly http://seasonsonthefly.com and scroll down the "Recent Adventures" and find American Creek 1, 2 and 3 videos. Also check the regs for firearms. Also Branch River Air out of King Salmon will have the skinny on what you will need.

    Thanks Bigcox,

I was just trying to get some info out about the American.

With the video footage there makes me think what kind of camping is available at different water stages. Looks like a tight creek to float and wet to camp, but that is just from the video. Van at Branch River Air would be the best one to visit about. Also a concideration would be how much traffic it gets with fly out lodges???

    Merry Christmas Everyone.
