    Default Long Distance Range

I am looking for information about retired military personnel shooting on the Ft. Richardson range in Anchorage. I would like to do some shooting at 400 to 600 yards and I think this range is possible at Ft. Rich but I am unfamilar with regulations regarding usage by other than active duty military. If anyone could supply any information or a contact phone number for more information I would be most appreciative. Thanx in advance.

Contact the range office during the week. They have a little video you must watch and then you can have access to the off-duty range.
I have shot to 400 on that range and you might be able to get 500.

As for the 600 yard range, I have shot there during NRA sponsored long range matches. I have no idea how they arrange it.

The same going for the 1100 meter machine gun range along the highway.

Now that I have been retired for exactly 12 months, I really miss the sight of tracers going away from me on a cold afternoon.

Float Pilot: Thanx for pointing me in the right direction...that's pretty much the information I was looking for.
