Thread: Dall Sheep Video Music

    Default Dall Sheep Video Music

I know some of you guys may think this is a bit "cheesey," but I'm putting together a movie of this year's dall sheep trip. I'm trying to come up with some music to go with it. I kind of like some of the edgey music by Creed, Vedder, and Pearl Jam and was wondering if you guys can think of any good stuff to go along with my flick? I'm not really into the stuff that will put you to sleep floating down a river!

finding music usually takes longer than the editing does....what a dreadful process it is to pick out tunes....if you get some good ones it is worth it though...are you looking for faster paced stuff or just not really slow?

    Default Dall Sheep Music Video????

Why on earth does it need music?? I suppose it will be that head banging hate music too. I never hear music when I hunt.

If you like Eddie Vedder, check out "Nutshell" from Alice in Chains. I've had this song stuck in my head my past three mountain hunts and through an entire Afghanistan deployment. I was going to use it for this year's sheep video, but my footage just didn't turn out.

Good luck & be sure to share that video!

Why on earth do you use such a large font??

I challenge you to find a professionally made video that doesn't use music. There is no doubt that it can absolutely enhance the video when used correctly.

I usually have a single solitary song stuck in my head when hunting and sweating it up the mountains (and its usually something like the *****cat Dolls or something that was last on the radio before I lost signal)...so yes I hear music and would usually enjoy more variety up in that brain of mine

    Default Wanted Dead or Alive

    chinoolee,

I always hear music when I hunt. One year out in western Ak the song stuck in my head was Earl Had To Die. My client hunter shot a black wolf and a 63 inch wide bull moose. He named them Black Earl, and Big Earl.

I often get a song stuck in my head for six or ten days straight, which can be a long time.

We can be different and we can both be right.

jimss...use Bon Jovi, Wanted Dead or Alive.

I too, usually get a song stuck in my head for days on end. Unfortunately, it's usually not a song that I would choose.

I second T-Rex's recommendation of "Nutshell" or anything off of "Jar of Flies".

How about some hate filled "Tool"? (just for Chinookee)

It's all a matter of personal taste, but hard, fast music just doesn't mesh with the serenity I find in the mountains when huntng sheep. I can appreciate Pearl Jam and such in some situations, but not sheep hunting. I'd go with something acoustic, personally.

Whatever you choose, just don't use John Denver
Rocky Mountain High would be a travesty to the memory of the Sheep.

The bag pipes in "Long Way To The Top" by AC/DC would add a level up excitement that would seem fitting

That's a Montana sheep herding song just a little different than sheep hunting, I should know I'm from Montana origianally. Agree with "Nutshell" awesome song. Here I thought I was the only one who had a song stick in my head for the whole huntin trip. After 21 days in the Brooks in 07 I was more than sick of Rihanna and her ****ing umbrella, still not sure where it came from.

    Thumbs up alaska music

there is a group called "joanne and monty" that alaskans are usually familiar with and they sing/play songs about alaska.
try "where we live" for a good choice but there are many other that would go well with a hunting video that is alaskan

    you're welcome.

Here's the perfect one for you:

The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears

My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
that rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
from a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over
    stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray

I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
    And I'll sing once more
