    Default Trolling reel

    Guys-
I'm in the market to outfit my new boat and looking at the Quantum Cabo PTs trolling reel for my customers.

    http://www.quantumfishing.com/series/1/80/TROLLING.aspx

    Anybody use these? Experience/reaction?

I have a couple of Cabo PTs spinning reels and it is an awesome reel with a super drag...

    Thanks...jim

    Hi Jim,

Will you be using these reels just for trolling or are you thinking of them for groundfishing too? For deep (300-400+ feet) drops and larger fish the 6.2/1 gear ratio might be a workout.

Thanks for the link - lottsa bearings, carbon fiber drag, corrosion resistance, light weight - sounds good. I'm interested too in what folks that have used them have to say.

Good looking boat on your website! What size is she?

    - Jay

    Default Quantum reels

Just looking to use these for trolling kings/silvers/pinks only. I have halibut/rockfish combos chosen separately....jim

I have a couple charter specials that I'm really happy with and I won't feel as bad when somebody lets one go overboard. They are about half the price of the one you are looking at.

    Default Change to levelwind

Okay, now I'm looking at setting my customers up with levelwinds to ease the learning curve for people new to fishing.

Do you folks have experience with Fin Nor reels, specifically this one?
