Search through the archives here and you will come up with a good idea on where to fish for them in Whitter.

If you are traveling in the Main Bay area and you see buoyies by the shore make sure to steer well outside of them as they are set net sites and usually have a running line between the buoyies and the shore. I've heard applegate island for lings.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

    Default Whittier

We had luck early this year (July 4) for Silvers off Main bay/crofton island
Then did some salt water snagging at hatchery near Main - just cast into the schools as they tooled around us. that was about July 7th or so.

We got Rockfish off Lone, Naked islands....

yet to find out where the Lings are.

Boy I was there the day they allowed them to go into main bay. It was like a maze. Wasn't bad but I had to go real slow.

They will have fun. I will say though unless you go far out fishing for Halibut out of Whitter can be real spotty. Whitter by far has the best scenary.

What you drive? We just laughed at you, **** Pukers. We then weaved full speed through the maze to kill some more salmon.

I should add that Openers are on monday and friday, so if you plan on fishing then check the hotline
