Highs were in the mid-20's this past weekend and lows were in the low teens.
Weather History

Snow Depth At Landing Parking Lot:

3" fell early morning 11/30. That is roughly 7" since 11/26, and 14" total for the year.

Trail Conditions:

Bill J. and wife made it down to the Deshka with no major problems, but lots of jumbled ice & rocks. There are quite a few open leads & the trail runs right next to one that is about 70' long. You can get around the open leads fairly easily, but there is not enough snow cover, and we don't recommend running the "trail" in the dark yet.
We heard that the Deshka is fine at least 11 miles up, but there is some overflow.
Ken L. reported no major hazards and made it up the Yenta past Luce's with no big problems.
Several of the open water spots have now frozen over with the temps staying below freezing the past few days. The overflow on the Kroto Slough has frozen up and the slough is frozen solid. Travel on the ice remains somewhat rough due to lack of snowfall, but that should be changing this week with the expected storm. No trail markers have been put up and nothing will be groomed until there is more snow. There was good traffic coming out of Big Lake this weekend and some guys were hauling sleds behind them.
