A great place to take the kids
For all you guys wanting to get the little ones out from infront of the TV, I would like to let you in on something I found out today. I went over to Delong lake in Anchorage and fished for about an hour. The ice is about 8in thick and the little rainbows are thick. I caught 44 of the little buggers in the short time I was there, nothing over 10" but fast paced and entertaining. I caught them on orange ice ants with a piece of a powerbait trout worm but I'm fairly sure most anything would work.
So get the younguns out there and have a ball.
Thanks, good to know. I have three of my own. Two girls and a boy. If it is like you say I will not get to hold a rod. I'll be busy with everyones rod and bait and fish . Looking forward to the chaos. We did a trip to Jewel lake like that once and the older two kids have talked about it for years.
great to see the kids enjoying the outdoors
I stopped by over there tonight on my way home from work for about 20 minutes. Caught 1 char and 9 rainbows in that short time, and all in the dark as I forgot my flashlight.
