Default First fish of the Hard Water Season

Went to Quartz Lake Saturday. Ice thickness was about 10-11 inches. The temp read -23 when I left NoPo, -18 at the Lake when we started. We forgot to grab of all things the heater....here is my first fish for 2009-2010 season:

Rainbow Trout went just under 20 inches.

Cant wait to get going with some more....

Looks a bit nippy. I'm just startin to knock the dust off all the gear. Kiddo is antzy to hit the lake.
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

    Default Five fish yesterday

Landlockeds. Hard to keep the little beggars off my hook! The boy and my wife said they were tasty oven fried.

Looking for bigger fish next weekend if the weather cooperates. I want to try my new Yo-yo reels.

My family has a cabin on Big Lake. Troopers are a regular sighting. Especially on New Years Day. They love to catch folks that have not picked up the new license.
