    Default 338-06 and 338-06 A Square

These are the same cartridge, right?
I'm looking at a 338-06, and i see Weatherby is offering A Square ammo, and i just want to confirm.
    Thanks

Same cartridge. A-Square is the licensed manufacturer that finally submitted specs to SAAMI for certification, hence the A-Square tag.

Thumbs up Got one in a Weatherby

Personally for hunting it's a great caliber. I like it, but then again I like everything larger than 7.62 in a 30-06 cartridge.

Without getting technical data, I'd recommend getting it. It's spendy for factory loaded ammo so get the dies and handload for it, but that is what makes it for me. I shoot my unique caliber with my own loads.

Odd caliber ammo sucks if your in the field and loose your ammo on the 3rd day of the hunt...

I had another rifle to switch over to as a back up. Not a bad idea if you have the room and means to carry multiple guns and ammo to hunting camp.
