It may be a basic class but it provide valuable information for new boaters. Plus when you complete the class and recieve the safety card you can notify your insurance company and most will give you a discounted rate. State Farm gave me 10% for mine. And in this Obama World, I can use all the discounts I can get.
Agreed, it is a good course for new boaters who have never attended anything like it. Plus it is free.

My only point was that if you have had a basic class before you probably wont get much new information, just a refresher.
