    Default can a f115/jet get a 22'atec on step

    I need to know if I take off my prop and put a jet on will it get on step with about 3000lbs.The boat is a 22'atec skiff.It willtake it down to an 80 hp right

    Default Clarification..

    Is the 3000 lbs total boat and gear weight or just additional gear weight?
    Does the prop you have on now get it on step with this load fairly easily or not? This info will help to get you an idea of how losing 30 percent of your power will leave you.

    Yes, the 115 will become a 80 at the pump.

    3000Lbs, asking alot for 80Hp, I would say no,, If it did I would think you would be at WOT, just to keep it there. Maybe 2000Lbs, Old rule of thumb was? 20-25 Lbs per Hp If memory is correct.

    What is the hull design? V or semi v? How much dead rise? That plays a lot in whether it will do well with a jet or not.
