    Default newbie trapping question???

    hi to everyone !!
    im a engishmen living in british columbia, ive just started trapping this year.and will have about 12 lynx sets , i was wondering if whole chicken carcasses with there feathers and guts ,would make good bait in cubby sets??? as ive 4 chickens that have stopped laying?? anyone ever tried before.??

    In my experience, both with trapping and having had chickens for quite sometime now. Nothing will come into chicken carcasses. They also wont touch pig carcasses... We have also had "dogs" refuse to come into domestic rabbits.

    Oh we have them too! They are even laying for us right now...lol.....

    Thread hijack, Sorry folks!


    Daniel, you might try to snare the outside perimeter of the area if you do decide to use chickens. They will circle the area from time to time, you'll just have to pattern them snaring their trails. We didn't have great luck using anything "domestic" so its nothing but road kill moose, fish carcasses from all summer etc....
