so some one explain the difference between DO NOT ADOPT and take no action?

i went straight to prop 34 and take no action on the edible meat issues.

and a slight comment on the current legal situation of it.

so the state is taking some notice on that subject with minimal comment? or what?

I think what they are trying to convey in there comment section is that the current regulation has a good definition of "edible" meat and they are not going to stick their hands in the hunny pot at this point with all that is going on with the Point Hope situation.

but why the difference in DO NOT ADOPT/TAKE NO ACTION ?

is one more or less P/C? they both do the essentally same thing.. so why not just say we are not going to adopt this prop? and send the clear message the state is not willing to go there?

i would interpret "take no action" as "don't even discuss it" and "do not adopt" as "here is why we think this should not be".
but you are right, they are pretty similar stances.

I too agree with ya on that they seem to be the same

Maybe we should put in a PROP to change their wording or maybe someone in the know with them could asked them to put a legend for us to understand the meaning of their remarks.

"Take no action" can also allude to deferring the proposal to a later date.

Basically, it can also mean "we don't want to weigh in on this."

"Do not adopt" and "take no action" are two totally different positions, in that one of them (Do not adopt) is an actual concrete stance/position.

    Do not adopt = opposed.
Take no action = do not entertain a motion to vote on the proposal.

Proposal 34 is a change is salvage requirements but is written to only apply to unit 23 and 26A. Since salvage definitions are a staewide reg, the dept does not want action on a unit specific proposal. Proposal 34 could very well be tabled until the next statewide BoG meeting.

At our AC meeting, almost 2 weeks ago, our area bio said that dept positions are regularly discussed and changed right up until the meeting.
