Thumbs up the other white meat

i cooked up the other white meat last night

had a possum i caught a month ago, put that rascal up in our cage and feed it good food and butter milk for a month
killed that sucker yesterday and cut it up cut all the fat off, then rolled it in corn meal and fried it like you would chicken, have deep fried sweet potatoes, coleslaw, and salad.
don't know if yall have possums up there but if you do never throw them away you are missing one fine meat

...not much different than eating porcupine, ground squirrel, or beaver (except for the weird pinky snout and the pouch...that's kinda strange).

    Default What's Up Doc?

And, I thought Rabbit might have been served. It is another "White Meat" after all. And, it's the healthiest white meat that is farm produced.

    Default halibut olympia

I've got a halibut olympia recipe that we liked. A buddy is coming over with half a chicken Sunday and we'll make this again. Let me know if you want this recipe, or want to hear after sunday if it turned out well. 1+ years ago it did.

    eeeew.

Moose, caribou, beaver, squirrel, porcupine, bear, mmmmm. A person has to draw the line somewhere. No possum in AK. Probably would be on the list if they didn't gross me out.

I've caught numerous 'possums in my time. Never ate one of the scary looking critters but always released them. If you are so inclined to eat one, this tongue-in-cheek recipe is a welcome addition to any collection:
