Default Need a hand with a 7 mag load

    I need a hand with a 7mm rem mag problem I’m having.

I’m trying to load a Hornady 162 gr “SST” bullet with Hodgdon H4831-SC powder. The problem is I can only find data for a Hornady 162 gr “SPBT” bullet with this powder. The Hornady website is no help, as a matter of fact they no longer even show “SST” bullets, they’re showing “BTSP” bullets.

I don’t have a Hornady manual. Are all of these 162 grain jacketed bullets one and the same? Can I load the SST bullet with the SPBT data?

this is all I could find, I dont see why you cant use the same recipe for the same 162grn bullet. I reload my 7mm rem mags with Hornady V-maxes, great accurate bullet.

    They're close enough.

You'll be working up, developing the load in YOUR rifle anyway.

Default Kinda what I was thinking

Thanks guys, that's kind of what I was thinking. Too many abbreviations to keep track of!

My favorite 7 mag, 160 load is 68-H4831 with Fed mag primers. I get about 3100 fps and it is highly accurate. Use at your own risk though. J.
