Default Garmin 500 series satellite basemaps?

I'm looking to pull the trigger on a 526s for my interior Alaska riverboat, but I'm hesitant as I've been unable to see what the basemap shows for my area.

Would it be possible to get some screenshots from anyone showing what I may be looking at if I ordered this unit? The closest display unit I can get my hands on is in Anchorage, 350 miles away.

The area in question is the Fairbanks area, and the villages of Tanana and Ruby north of Fairbanks on the Yukon River.

I've used MapQuest in the past on my 172c and it has worked very well, but I'm told MapQuest isn't compatible with the 500, so it looks like I'l be relying on the basemap which I'm sure is better nowadays than when the 172c came out!

Any help, thoughts or screenshots would be much appreciated...

I have a 400 series garmin GPS/sonar combo, which is the small screen version of the 500. I am very disappointed in the maps for alaska rivers, it is great for the saltwater but darn near useless for for the rivers.

After talking with Garmin as well as Accupoint there in Anchorage, it looks like I'll have to go with a handheld or their 620/640 unit to continue using Mapsource or their TOPO map sets. Downside is the 620/640 is not sonar compatible, upside is they are pretty cool touchscreen units that can also be used on the streets when we travel.

    Thanks for your input.
