    Default Surf Fishing

I have an 11 foot "G Loomis" surf rod, that I bought many years ago, and wanted to possibly try it out next year for Silvers, off of Allison Point in Valdez, I can get some great casting distance on this rod if I'm using the right weight sinker. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this, seems like the area would be good for it, and I could possibly find sand and gravel areas i can stick a sand spike into. Just curious if anyones done this, I know they do it in Homer. Also would a standard weight with hook, or would slide baits work????

Default Do some research on the forum

    We've discussed this at length.

Try Whiskey Gulch in June for halibut and possible kings. Just don't ask me where my favorite spot is.
