Looks to me like he is one of the bulls the antler restriction regulations serve to protect. Exactly 50"; but not a shooter that you could hang your hat on.

That is a young bull that will be very nice one day. I put that guy right at 46 inches.

I'd guess in the 45" range, perfectly legal in that area, just a little outta season.

Over 50 for sure, hard to say with the angle of the photo but I have ALOT of experience with 47-50 in bulls and he is a bit above that.

AFHunter, why do you say he's a youngin? Based only on width?

With those droops in the bases I would have called him as an older bull on the downside of prime. I've been known be mistaken on occasion though...

I would call him more than 50", maybe 54" but I'd have to stare at him for a while at more of a straight on view.

The frame of the body looks small for a mature moose. He looks like a cow. Maybe the area I hunt just has big bodied bulls.

A bull that is past his prime will have much thicker bases and usually will have what I refer to as deformed "Wavy horns" horns. For instance the bull I attached was older than dirt. Horns were wavy on his left and a shelf/deformed portion on his right.

I judged this bull 59-63 inches on the hoof at 1 mile. Any guesses to actual ground size?

I'll give you a 65" on that one just because of his browtines. He's def. over 60"

I'd say Bowtech's is too close to 50" to shoot. as for AFhunters 65"

Judging by that angle and based on width, I would not shoot. I think he is 48-50"

He's definetly not legal in the brow tine department and I'd guess him to be 45-47"s. AFHunters pic is a little on the dark side but i'd guess him at 60"s.
