    Default Shooting Competition Schedule

I thought i would post the IDPA and USPSA schedule for everyone. I just started going to these in January and it is the most fun shooting i have ever had. Everyone is very helpful and willing to help beginners. You also don't need a bunch of fancy equipent to be competitive, especially for IDPA. If you are interested in improving your shooting skills and having a lot of fun doing it, you should come check it out. There is also a bunch of info on the net about these shooting sports. Most of the matches in the winter are at the Matanuska Valley Sportsman's Range in Palmer. You can call them for more info and pricing 907-746-4862. I hope to see you there!

Here is a list for USPSA http://www.uspsa.org/dw/gettingstarted.html

IDPA is a little more specific on holsters and stuff as its mainly about concealment (ie no supper fancy stuff that makes it unfair for other shooters). But, for the most part as long as it retains your firearm and covers the trigger guard you'll be fine for your fist couple matches at least. They are pretty flexible with new shooters as long as your equipment is safe.

And yes i have seen people there with 10mm. or the g27. and if your wife likes to shoot bring her out with you.
