    Default Zeiss Conquest 12x45

Looking to go ahead and spend the money on some good optics. These look like a good set, and only a 1.5 pounds. Anyone try these out.

12 power is pretty high and would be hard to hold steady and won't gather as much light at dawn or dusk as 8 or 10x. I have 10X and will probably go with 8x next time. Well, if there is a next time. I really like the 10x binos I have now.

I agree with Snyd, 12X is a lot of magnification. I have 10X & 8X binoculars, but I almost always carry the 8X. The bigger field of view is a real advantage as is the ability to hold them steady in a brisk wind. If you are asking about the Zeiss Conquest quality then my answer would be they are a good binocular, but I would not choose the 12X45. Instead look at the 8X40 or 10X50 in the same line, you'll be better served by these for hunting purposes.
