Thread: The cost of cheap brass

Default The cost of cheap brass

Igman brass just broke my second 6.5x55 re-sizer die de-capper pin. I discovered that their flash hole is too small for a Lee Die. There are many stories on the internet about Igman breaking RCBS dies also for this same reason. PMC brass stretches too much.

    Default Others too

I bought a batch of 6.5 bullets and various fired brass for same and there were three different brands of european brass that had too small flashholes. Seeing what it would take to deprime and open up the flashhole, the brass went bye-bye.

    Default Another vote for Lapua

As a rule I use Lapua brass because of its consistency from case to case and its excellent quality overall. Lapua has had an occasional batch of poor quality brass, though I've never bought any, but normally it is the best choice available.
