Not for moose, everything will be closed by the weekend unless you have a draw permit, then there are some hunts still going on.

Last of the moose hunts all close tomorrow and most have already closed. You could always go chase black or brown bears.

Of course there are only 3 trails ATVs can use and they are only 4 miles each.

I believe Bird Creek is one of them and it's longer than 4 miles.

I believe that area is only open for bowhunting registration permits.

yeah i was thinking more by lake george (remainder area). i dont think you can go that far. back to the plane idea... can a guy boat up to the glacier then hunt the south side of the river? or isnt that private property?

Default All trails at Bird Creek

have been closed off to ATVs after just about 4 miles. They have placed barrier poles in the ground in the middle of the trail. I have seen where people have knocked the signs down but they are still closed. These closures just happened this summer
(One of the Rangers told me that they had just put a sign up and moved off a little ways to have lunch when some ya hoo on a quad rolls up and proceeds to pump a bunch of .45 rounds into the sign. It was a good day for fines that day)

Thanks for the heads up, I hunted off that trail in the spring of 08 and we went about 7-8 miles back then walked from there. I wonder why they closed it after 4 miles, did the ranger say?
