    Default another good year

well although legal sheep seems to be nothing more than a mirage another year (despite getting a draw for DS203) moose hunting seems to be good luck for me. 3 of us hunting and three nice moose (although originally I was just along for the ride and calling, both of my hunting partners hadn't shot a bull with horns before this trip).
We started out a bit poorly 5 days without seeing much more than a cow and calf, although I did call in a few bulls that stayed in the brush...

one of the group is from Louisiana and don't see how he could have been so simple he didn't know I was maintaining a low profile to call below (even took a picture with my camera while I was contemplating)....

    Default more on moose hunt

the first bull I offered to the other guys, but he was a bit small even for the 5th day of hunting... and they both chose to pass, so I figured meat in the freezer is better than meat in the field.

    Default not without woes

other two moose we're a bit bigger, 54" and 53" but both in the same day; wasn't too much fun, although two of the three were the easiest moose I've ever pulled out of the woods. The smaller of the two came in quick to raking and the other we spotted on the bank of the Tanana, I managed to pull within 200yrds with a cow call... was pretty cool, every time he'd go to run I'd kill the engine on the boat and cow call again.

    Default wasn't all good

the trip wasn't all good though, managed to run up on the bank late one night, hindsight was great but my judgement wasn't so good. spent until 1am digging and had a nice fellow come pull us out in 5 minutes the next morning... but plenty of meat in the freezer, and we fed a few others folks as well.

Great job! Sometimes it works out when you don't really plan on harvesting one! Sounds like a great trip.
