MVS Range News Indoor Range
Latest news from MVS. Winter is inbound. Warmer and more light, nice place to shoot. Check it out.
Notice of Rate Increase
The Matanuska Valley Sportsmen, Inc. is an all-volunteer, 501(c )(3), non-profit club, so we hold shooting fees to the absolute minimum that will allow us to continue to serve members of the shooting community. Due to a 22% increase in the cost of gas last year, coupled with a dramatic increase in the amount of gas and electricity we use, the Matanuska Valley Sportsmen, Inc. have incurred losses that have forced us to increase the range fees charged. We regret having to make this change, but we cannot continue to operate with our expenses outpacing our income at the current rate. The change in range fees will take effect November 1, 2009. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
The new fee schedule is as follows:
Youth (under 18) $ 5
Punch cards (8 visits) $68
Note: punch cards are available to members only.

In recent years, 9/11 has become known as Patriot Day. Patriot Day is held in memory of nearly 3000 people who died during terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, in the United States.
It has been suggested that Patriot Day be observed as a day of service to others. On 9/12/09 of this year a crowd reported to be as many as few as several hundred thousand to as much as1.7 million people attended a peaceful protest in Washington, D.C. They were there to protest the growth of government, the loss of freedom in the markets, businesses, and potentially their choice in Health Care.
Whether you agree with this movement or not, the very presence of so many people concerned for their liberty has highlighted the fact that we all need to advocate for the causes that are near and dear to us. We must become “community organizers”, in effect, to protect those things we cherish.
With that thought in mind, what have you done to protect your right to keep and bear arms, lately? Have you called your congressmen and local legislators to voice your support for the shooting sports and firearms ownership? Have you asked the face you see in the mirror, “What can I do to preserve the shooting sports, and our right to keep and bear arms?”
Words of Wisdom
"To sin by silence when they should protest, makes cowards of men.”
- Abraham Lincoln
