Thread: missing hunter

    Default missing hunter

Anyone have an update on the caribou hunter that went missing last week. It may have been on the Sag. Turns out, he has an Indiana connection, and I'd like to follow up for some of his extended family in any way I can.

    Thanks,

They are still looking but are hampered by fog on the river. I have never met the lost hunter but am pretty good friends with future son in law/ daughter. He is no newcomer to hunting Alaska and has many successful hard hunts that most people wouldnt even consider possible. If anyone could survive this I would put my money on him.

I was packing up camp Wed morning when a couple guys, one from Indiana (pastor I believe) asked if I had and fuel to sell for thier RV, I sold them 7 gallons and he insisted on paying me 50.00 for it. Anyways, they were out to get a downed bull that the gentleman had shot 2.5 miles in w/ a bow the evening before. I believe 4 of them were to pack it out.
Nice people, I hope it wasn't one of these guys.

The man missing was my uncle, Rick Taylor. They found his body this morning in the water somewhere. My dad is going to identify him now. Thank you everyone for your kind words. He was definitely a wonderful man that most people would never forget.

Very sad news indeed, my condolences to you and your family.

Isn't this the second fatality concerning the Sag this year?

Sorry to hear this ended the way it did. Nice to see, however, guys here and on an Indiana hunting site are taking time to send prayers.
