    Default No Bull...anymore....

Out of thousands of cows milling about in the Indian summer were having, we shot the only mature bull who was happily setting up his harem

No hints of rut yet, and with cold weather cmming, were busting at the seems to feel the chill that will bring the rest of the herd along this trail made by the lead Cows.......nothing like having a fix on THAT trail

Is it wise to take the only breeding bull out of the herd of thousands of cows.

    ~~LOL!!~~
"Is it wise to take the only breeding bull out of the herd of thousands of cows."

There are thousands of Bulls following those trails that are carved from Caribou hooves, recently freshened and rescented by these lead Cows. They are there milling about in the warmth. When it gets cold, and were praying for clear skys, the migration will resume, and bands of bulls will be arriving, as they do every year. Now I know a good trail to watch and I'm 100% certain to hunt this area for those that will follow.

I noted that he wasnt in Rut.
No stink, no belly full of water, no sparing, no running around the edges keeping the cows pent, just grazing along like another Caribou...

Caribou migrate by the thousands and thousands with the cows leading the way in spring , North to the calving grounds, and once again in the fall. when rut hits, the bulls parry and fight to round up as many as possible, and screw as many as possible.
The Bull among the hundreds of cows was there because he "Was" (~~LOL!!~~) a herd animal that was taking intrest in grouping up as they do....maby he never left the cows at all this summer??

Any way, if he could hold the cows in the comming duels, he had great 'possiblilitys', in about two weeks when the guys in the WACH herd Caribou Bulls start to rut,....... but that was just not his fate.

Regardless, he tastes great and I plan to shoot many, many more soon, it's gonna be a long winter.

Maby he was ahead of the game?? I could see him starting early, Like the proverbial old bull said to the young the young bull; "Lets just stroll down and **** 'em all"

No rutting and protecting his cows. Maybe he was one of those transgendered things we hear about and thought he was just out with the girls
