    Default Finally My First Moose

It finally happened after four years of failure, I got my first moose on Sunday. I found this guy standing on the side of the road in the Yukon Training Area in 20B at 10am. After sitting in the woods for three hours that morning, I decide to drive around to have a look for any fresh signs. I stopped the truck and he just stood there. The first shot from my 7mm Rem Mag scored a hit. He started to limp, so I fired off three more to make sure he went no where. He tried to go up the hill, but didn't and fell right beside the road. The camera is on the tailgate. He measured 38".

He'll be a darn tasty bull. Some people get caught up with antlers until you ask them what they taste like.

Good job on the moose, it's funny how moose can be so hard one minute, then when you least expect it, one shows itself right next to the road

It wasn't 4 years of failure man, it was 4 years of paying your dues, and you were rewarded this year with a nice bull and an easy pack out!

    Default First Moose

Congratulations on a great moose AND next to the road is exactly where you should shoot one.

    Default NOW you've done it!

Well, now you're spoiled; shooting one that close to the road is gonna set you up for inflated expectations next time!

I shot my first moose three miles from the lake. Never again!

Congratulations, friend! What a lucky find!

    Best regards,
