I have been surfing the usual ballistic's charts of ammo manufacturer's of some of my favorite cartridges, one of which is the 35 Whelan.
Nosler claims a muzzle velocity of 2800 fps with their 225 gr. accubond.
That is SMOKIN...
Can anyone attest to the accuracy of that velocity?
Folks here are getting close to that out of their 358win so I would say it should be no problem with the bigger case Whelen
I think do to lots of old bolts modified to the whelen most ammo manufacturers and manuals keep milder than it can be loaded.
About 2450 is all I am willing to push my 358win with a 225gr partition but its capable of 2500 without jumping to 308win pressurers. Just a guess, but I would expect some thing like 2600-2670 from a 22 barrel. I would be very happaily suprised to get more. I get 2650fps from the rem 35 whelen 200gr ammo in a 22" barrel.
