Where were you fishing? I do very well on Sand lake most of the time. Just remember that its still fishing even if the lake is located in Anchorage

Also it was a clear high pressure day yesterday. Fish dont really seem to be as active on thsoe days. I am going to wait for a warmer cloudier day and that seems to trigger a feeding frenzy.

i got a nibble about 50 yards to the right of the dock. other than that, it was a pretty dismal day.

when I used to ice fish a lot I found any time there was a major temperature shift the fishing was good and when its cold for a long time or warm for a long time the fishing would stink
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

    Thumbs up SAND lAKE

I Fished Sand Lake Sunday Morning from 5 until 12. A few bites but no fish landed until 8:30 am. Then I caught 7 char, biggest was about 16 inches, and one nice fat 18 inch Rainbow. I set the hook one time while jigging and came up with just a broken line. I assume it was a pike that cut my line. Sand lake always seems to produce for me. Good luck and keep trying!
