    Default First Moose w/bow

God was looking out for me today. My wife and I had twins three weeks ago, so I didn't even know if I'd be able to hunt this year. Twins definitely keep you busy. Due to work and the family schedule, I would only be able to hunt this morning. I went out last night for a couple of hours of scouting and located two small bulls. After only 1 1/2 hours of sleep last night (twins awake), I got up at 4:00am and headed out. I spotted this guy with two cows at 5:30am. I was able to get to within 30yds for a shot and he went 15yds before expiring. You all know how I spent the rest of the day. He's not huge, but will be tasty. Now, I'm at work for a 12 hour night shift. Definitely worth it!

    Thumbs up Congratulations!

I bet once you get home from work, you will be bushed! WTG on your first moose with a bow. I hope to do the same this year, but I can't hunt til 9/8. Well Done and thank you for sharing the picture.

I forgot to add, between all of this, you had time to get on the computer, post your story before work! That is dedication!

    Default Heads up!!!

Just a heads up the folks at Natural resources mentioned they were unaware of any Bulls taken over on the other side of the Richardson Hwy. ***They were a bit concerned it has not been reported yet.*** You might want to drop in or call them with the location of your shoot and the other details.

Sorry if you reported it already, but this moose looks similar to one we observed on the opposite side of the Rich from Main Base.

    Default Mistaken

    Ricky,

This moose was taken on main base...not across the Rich. Please don't assume.

    Default Hey

    Dan,

Now you know...it's been crazy at my house. I need to stop by Kevin's with the twins. I was lucky to get out on opening day. Lucky for me the hunt was over in 15 minutes.
