Missing first morning - high wind and I'm resting after getting camp to Kackamack Bay
Running late - just moved camp boat from Kenai to Homer on Sunday.
10 hours of sterning - water 1 to 5 foot - got there at midnight.
Monday brought higher winds - figured I would rest at home before trailering skiff to Homer and going out looking for birds.
Still have to figure out the tidal flats and mud.'
Would not be good to stick skiff in 6ft of mud - makes for a long swim.
After 10 or more years - I got where I've been wanting to hunt.
Took a day and half to learn that I had it figured out correctly from the start.
Got to go in and stay through the tides, maybe camp.
Lots of birds and I was the only hunter.
You know what that means for waterfowl hunting - some times you need more hunters to keep the birds moving.
Over 75 miles of open water to face in some parts might be bad at times.
First 20 minutes into area got 4 ducks.
Then went after geese - they saw me first and moved to the other groups.
I left because I was loosing water. Go-Devil maybe in my future.
I'll BE BACK!!!
