    Default Seed storage?

How long can you store dry seeds? Like the ones you buy at the store. Also what is the best way to store them?
    That's what she said...

You can store them for a long time, but it seems like my germination rates drop some each year. Maybe just plant the seeds a little more dense than normal.

I have a hard time throwing unused seeds out, but I'm trying to break that habit. I figure if spending $15-$20 per year on seeds will help out my garden success, then I'll go for it. I need all the help I can get.

To maximize seed storage time they should be kept cold and dry. The best way I know of is to put them in a clean dry canning jar in the fridge. Storing them this way your germination rate will drop some after a while but not nearly as much as if you stored them at room temperature and/or in more humid conditions.
