Default Where can I make and order maps online?

Someone posted this awhile back, I don't remember the name of site where I can have my own map made to my specs; size, laminated, etc...

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Arrow why buy what is free?

You can download for free any usgs map - and they're specially enabled to allow you to coordinate your use of a GPS with them. Why buy?

I also recommend "mytopo.com". Excellent maps with options for lamination, waterproof paper, etc.

I have had good service from mytopo.com in past and will continue to use when it is the best option for me.

    Default Thanks..

I thought it was "map-zone," that wasn't it! USGS had an out-of-date map from '51! I need to order online.

Thanks for the recommendations; I'll try mytopo and USGS online tomorrow.

For plain old topo USGS maps...

For newer type maps, smaller folding as opposed to large rolling, customizable maps,... Go mytopo as others said. I had some made up for a NW float this past Sept and was very impressed. I especially liked that I can choose to have UTM coordinates put on the map when I order it. Much easier than using a metal ruler and colored pens. Good stuff and I am not sure I will be ordering anymore USGS topo maps.

    +1

I read about them in these forums and figured I'd give them a try; so I ordered my hunting topo's (4 maps) and had them an estimated 48 hours later. That was the fastest shipping I've seen and with a totally hassle free process. I've since taken them out scouting in a down pour and no issues with the pre-folded, waterproof paper.

Highly recommended. The maps also stay in your online account to later print without having to 're-define' your hunting ground. Makes it easier to produce duplicate maps if you feel a need.

    5 stars!
