Default HELP WITH SJ 175 Steer cable replacement

    Please help!!!
I have a 175 SJ and it snapped 2nd steer cable in 2 years...
I know it is a problem with them, and know that the best way to replace it is to pass through a rope when removing the old one..
I did it in the past, and did it again this time arround..
unfortunately, the cable snapped badly and as a result I could not remove it...
had to use extra force and ripp it out of there.
    unfortuantely rope slipped off cable...
SO, now I can not pass through the new cable....
Is there a trick I am missing?
tried snake, tried good end of good cable.
    Tried fiberglass rod, NO luck.
I really dont want to waist time and money to have someone drop pump for me...
    PLEASE HELP!!!!
    thank you DENNIS

No need to remove the entire pump. I've had good luck dropping the pump ride plate. Once the plate is off, you can guide the cable through the pump with the help of a long screw driver.
