    Default The pipeline Inn Valdez

Anybody stayed there? Can't find much about it on the internet other than a phone number. They seem to have the best rates I can find. I usually stay at the Glacier Inn and its about 105 a night. Its ok and you get Cont. breakfast included. Thanks

I have stayed there years ago. If you are after 4 walls and a dry roof, it is fine. If you are after 5 star, well, It is an old building and it shows. The beds were comfortable and I had no complaints. They have a bar and nice restaraunt there as well so you can crawl back to your room without driving. The food is good at the restaraunt. Not fancy or nice by any stretch of the imagination, but for the price, I would stay there over somewhere else paying double.
    Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't expect much. I'd expect the summer rates to be high, as always. Most of the hotels in Valdez were there when I lived there in 70's. I stayed at the now called Best Western last year for a night on the harbor.

For the money, go across the street, well and down a block to Glacier. Much nicer IMHO, although pipeline is where we always hang out. Bar is fun and the bar cook is good, good bar food. If you do stay at the pipeline, DO NOT get one of the 2 rooms nearest the bar if sleep is at all desired. Have fun.

    Default best western

Meant to also say that I haven't stayed there but their bar is really neat, big glass window looking out on the harbor, and food also very good.
