    Default Hide Sleeping Pad

My question is how to make a sleeping pad out of a hide. A while back I read about someone making a sleeping pad from just a dried hide trimmed to size and just keep rolled up. I am tired of wasting hides and if we are successfull this fall with moose, I want to try and make a pad. If i remember correctly the hide was just stretched out fleshed and dried? If anyone has ever done this or has any info on how to do this i would apreciate it. Also what exactly does it take to flesh a hide. Is it just taking off any meat left on the hide or does all of the thin membrane need to come off? What is the best way to do this? Thanks.
