    Default Ketchikan Butts

Hello to all! I am new to this site but Im a very experienced fisherman that has spent allot of time in your great state! I plan on takeing my wife and kids up to ketchikan for a few days in mid september and wanted to know if anyone had any numbers for halibut spots that would be worth bounceing some bait down? Im not looking for secret spots but general locations would help us a ton! also what points in the tides you like to fish would help too! I would gladly re pay the favor with dinner in ketchikan anytime or place from the 11th to the 15th!

    Default 20 Fathom Bank

This is not a secret spot or anything I am sure the locals will send you there. Look on your chart and find the entrance to Kassan Bay just South of the bay entrance there is an area called 20 Fathom Bank. There are probably many better spots but I caught fish there 2 years ago.

The twenty fathom bank area has been and is still hot this summer. Can't say if it will last into the middle of September. Crossing Clarence Straights that time of year can also be challenging.

Great thanks for the ideas! how long of a boat ride is that from herring Cove roughly ? any other ideas would be much apreciated!! P/M's are fine to if that is better for you

Or if someone with a good knowledge of the area and the halibut wants to go for a free fishing trip?? or if you want me to cover gas and follow you out that would work too.

what part of the tide do you like to fish that area ?

    thanks again!

    Talk to Warren,
I believe he fished out of knudson Cove this summer and did really well.
