    Default Don't Fish Bare Footed!

Guy out fishing halibut this weekend w/o shoes on a slimy deck.

Flat calm day, except for occasional boat wakes.

Freak accident put fillet knife of deck just as guy slips toward it.

Good case for having medical morphine on board. Or a fifth of 80 proof.

    Default Shoes

I have to tell my kid all the time that you do wear shoes in the boat for this type of reason along with others.

I hope there is no permanent damage

Yeah, looks like a decent fish. So the day wasn't a total waste.

Gotta find the silver linings, ya' know....

That looks painful as hell. Jebus. Add another one to the list of things not to do.

    Default Ow...just, ow

That makes me feel much better about the big honkin' hook that a dogfish drove through my hand a few years back. At least I got a "hooked and released at Providence Hospital in Seward" t-shirt (how many of you have one of those? Be honest, now). I'd bet they don't have a shirt to give to this poor guy.

At least some decent fishing was had (a nice piece of tail in the background, as others have pointed out).

    Holy ****!!
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

    Thumbs down

    OMG
That'll take the "cool" right out of a guy. I would think the next thing he should be worried about is "Fish Slime Poisoning". It is more serious than the wound.
