Default What's the skinny on Umiat?

    Hi folks,

A while back I heard that hunters could no longer take out at Umiat, on the Colville River. Somebody said some land changed hands or something. Anybody out there know anything about this?

    Default Umiat

The camp has been rebuilt and is still there (I know, I have been there a few times over the past few years). The airstrip is still maintained. I have heard that the camp is for sale, but to date, no takers.

As for putting in or taking out at Umiat, it is a private camp, but I imagine you could do anything for the right amount of money.

I heard from a co-worker who was up there last week that Umiat was "open for business". As far as hunters being taken out, I don't know but will find out...Louis
