    Default Valdez in August

Not sure which week to go down, 24th - 28th or 31st - 7th. Any thoughts on which would be better as far as the fishing goes or does it not really matter? Appreciate your input...

You should go on the earlier trip. I think that the comm guys start fishing on September 1st. They are pretty efficient at it from what I have "heard" - I try to fish it before they drop nets.

Go before the commercial nets go down. You'll do very well.

I thought the commercial guys get to clean up the Valdez Arm the day after Labor Day?
You know your not catching any fish when you start talking about the weather...

From what I recall, it's whatever day is after Labor Day because they have an agreement of sorts with the City of Valdez to let the sports fleet have that last weekend for making money, plus the derby always runs through that weekend. Must be someone on here who knows for sure.
