    Default Salmon/Black bear Trip Questions???

My son and I have a fishing /Black bear hunt planned for this Sept. SE Alaska, Heckman Lake. I don't belive this area is really known for its black bear, but another in our party was on this lake last year same time and saw bear everyday. The pictures he had and another group of pictures I found on the web, shows the surrounding area to be very dense. I'm assuming our only success at bear will be at the inlet/ outlet of the river into the lake ,and any other streams that feed this lake and nearby Jordon lake due to salmon that we hope are there. I do alot of predator hunting in IN. and would like to give it a try as well . Any thoughts or advice willl be apreciated.

Heckman lake is 15 air miles from Ketchikan on Revillagigedo island. It is approx 6miles upstream from Naha Bay on the Naha river.
