    Question Ice Hut For Rent?

Anyone have any ice huts for rent in Anchorage or the Valley?

    Default Not yet....................

I'm thinking of building one for rent on Big Lake.

Just out of curiosity, if there was a basic 8' x 12' shanty with a pair of bunks (no mattresses), wired for electric lights (hooked up to your vehicle with jumper cables), insulated, but without heater, and two holes in the floor, would anybody be interested in renting such a thing on Big Lake?

Would you keep this on the lake over the good fishing spot? or would the renter pull it out on the lake witht eh truck to whereever they wanted? The reason i ask is because in MN there were ice houses all over the place on every decent lake, but here you don't see them and I was wondering if there was a law against them staying on the lake.

I think you'd be lucky if it made it through a season. Its a sad state of affairs, but things like that have a tendancy to spontaneously combust in Alaska.
