Where to buy replacement netting for dipnet?
I know this has been answered before, but I can't find the thread:
I have a rectangular net frame for dipping at Kenai and want to replace the net. I know B&J has netting for the hoops, but does anyone know if they or anyone else has the net material for rectangular nets? Any idea how much that costs? My net frame is 4 X 3 feet (5 foot on the diagonal) and I'm trying to keep the bag depth to near the minimum requirement, which would be 2 1/2 feet if I'm reading the regs correctly.
As far as I know...
As far as I know the nets at B&J will work for the rectangle as well. If you're shooting for the minimum, you could always clip off a few rows to make it to you're liking.
You might try this link for other possibilities:
Replacement new material
Warehouse and Net Loft
5631 Silverado Way, Anchorage
Last I paid was around $25.00, but that was a couple of years back. If they have the time, I am sure they can make up anything you want rather than their out of the bag net packages.
Thanks for the info
Thanks so much. I'll check both of them out. I assume Donalson is where most people in the Anchorage are get gillnets for set netting at Kasilof? Or is there a place down in Soldotna or Kenai that sells that? Just planning ahead for next year...might as well make building a set net a winter project.
This is THE place. Cheaper than other places, plus sell lots of other neat stuff.
