    Arrow Fishing around Seldovia

    Hiya!

So yeah im going to be doing some geology work in the Seldovia area and im going to be camping around, I don't have boat access and I have a 8wt fly rod. I have never been to this place before so I was wondering if there are any fishing opportunities and how the fishing is like out there. Anyways I hope people have some ideas!

A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.

    Default Fishing in Seldovia

There will be some salmon swimming in Seldovia Slough (right in town). They will be going in and out with the tide. It will be mostly pinks, a few chums and maybe some silvers. There will probably be some kids running around snagging them. You can also try to catch some salmon or dollies in the salt water at outside beach too.

    Default Seldovia Slough

Silvers should be showing up in the Seldovia slough. I've had good luck drifting eggs under a bobber on the incoming tide right under the slough bridge. I think drifting a flesh fly on your 8 wt. would get results. Report back...

if you have a boat go try to catch some rockfish, they hang out around kelp beds, use the fastest sinking line you can find, there are pinks and dollies in the creeks that run into the bay
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
