Question Where to stay while fishing in Soldotna

Ok, trying the head to Soldotna to take my 9 yo fishing on Wed. Figuring fishing wed, staying night, then fishing next morning and heading back to Anchorage. I checked the Aspen hotel and it was 180 a night. Figured if I was gonna have to spend that, I should find a place right on river where we could bank fish. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to stay with accomodations on the river or any other places, B&B, etc. that aren't too expensive?

    Thanks,
    Jeanette

    Default Good luck

people who LIVE here can hardly find a campsite this time of year. Ask the people from Arizona, Texas, California, and Florida. They all seem to know when to RESERVE all the campsites....like 3 years ago!!! Sorry, its just frustrating. Rant over....

I think my husband thinks I will crash it or something. Or turn my little fishing excursion into a party on wheels. Figured with cost of gas, food, beer, it would be cheaper and faster to drive down in the truck. Don't know what I am doing, typical woman..Can't make up my mind. Go ahead with the wise cracks, guys!

Looking for inexpensive accomadations? Try the hostel in Sterling. $25 per night per person. Cheap, clean, and they are never full. Clientel this time of year are all fisherman. Name of the hostel is Jana House. Been using it for 10 years.
