I googled "attorney jobs in Alaska" and a whole bunch popped up.

Give it a try, if you already haven't.

There would be no civil society if lawyers did not exist.

Would you argue that there are not good cops and bad cops, good legislators and bad legislators, even good park rangers and bad park rangers? In just the same manner, there are good attorneys and there are bad attorneys. To classify an entire profession as corrupt or worthless is nothing short of ignorant.

Unlike professions based upon strict science (engineering, medicine, etc.), the law deals with the creation and enforcement of a system of values that determines how our society operates. In virtually all circumstances, the law seeks to weigh the rights of one individual or entity against the rights of another, ultimately leading to a judgment about the manner in which we, as a society, balance conflicting rights and competing interests.

Attorneys are the advocates who craft arguments for the preservation and enforcement of the rights of individuals on one side of a conflict. As such, they are destined to be disliked by competing interests adversely affected by their advocacy. That is an understandable byproduct of our adversarial system. However, it is inexcusably small minded to adopt the mentality that all lawyers are a detriment to their communities or assert that without lawyers, we would all live in a harmonious and blissful utopia. To the contrary, such a society would be anarchy.

Think before you type, will you?

Check the Alaska Bar Association website (www.alaskabar.org); they always have numerous jobs posted in the employment link.

Good luck on the search ... AK is a good place to be ... where else can you bag a king salmon before showing up at your downtown office in the morning?

AKPolaris, I guess you are right there are jerks in every profession. Assuming you are not an atty proves the point nicely.

    1. As any lawyer would argue, nobody said the whole profession is corrupt or worthless.

I said "We'll call ya when we need you" instead of calling everyone ignorant, try reading the post first

I thought before i typed, maybe you should read before you go ranting on about ignorant people
