Thread: Alaska Regs

    Default Alaska Regs

I have been reading through the regs in my spare time and I noticed the limit got decreased on the Russian.

Does this mean the run is smaller than expected or do they up it and lower it regularly? Is there a # to call for EO I can check while up there as I won't have my laptop.

Can't wait will be there the 30th.

    Thanks
    Cody

I do not see a number that you can call to get a recorded message, but at the end of each EO there is a phone number for the local area biologist. Find out the name and number for the local bioligist and/or fish and game office and give them a call to check.

The limit got returned to normal for the russian. What it means is there are 2 distinct runs of salmon in the russian. The early run was big so they libralized the harvest. The second run has not arived yet so the regulations return to normal untill they know if it is a big, small, or average run. At that time they may change the regs again.
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.
